RLP EVENTS

We sponsored the goodies for Del Webb's birthday at the Sun Cities Museum

What a great event this turned out to be! As always, The Snowy Churro, one of our favorite food trucks (churros and ice cream) was a big hit! There were more than 100 visitors throughout the day and everyone seemed to have a good time. We received a really nice letter of thanks from Bret McKeand, the president of the Sun Cities Area Historical Society Board of Trustees. He was so appreciative of our participation and we enjoyed helping make Del Webb’s 124th birthday a day to remember! We also want to give a shout-out to our business partners, Jim & Cheryl Conrad, who shared the sponsoring with us.

Linda Borton, the Museum’s Office Manager, had her very first churro! I think she loved it by her expression (top row, middle)! If you swung by, we hope you had fun too! As we mentioned in a separate post, Fox10 News did a spot on the Museum later that day and the Phoenix New Times magazine also did an article so be sure to check those out!

SUMMER FUN EVENT THIS WEEK!

Our event is happening NOW!

Hey Friends! Don’t forget that our SUMMER FUN event is happening THIS WEEK (June 26 – 30, 11:00 – 2:00)! Come by if you have a chance and HAVE SOME FUN!

***And the highest point winner for the week will receive a special prize!!***

LOOK WHAT WE'VE DONE!

Carrie and Dave had what so many do in Sun City – one of those dated fiberglass shower/tub spaces with a rod for a shower curtain. They asked us to transform it into a stylish, tiled walk-in shower with a corner bench.

Before

During

During construction, it’s always a mess! We demo all the old stuff, and take it down to the studs, rebuilding if we have to. Then we begin to build it up again. We install the corner bench and do the “rough-in” for the plumbing. We install the Kerdi system – a waterproof membrane that protects the wall and floor from water leaks.

Once we installed new drywall we could then begin the fun stuff – installing the field tile and the accent tile.

After

With Cheyanne’s help, Carrie and Frank picked out a beautiful, elegant, clean, understated field tile and a complementary accent tile for the wall decoration and the niche. They also picked a different, darker tile for the shower floor.  So pretty! As Cheyanne said: “(The clients) are obsessed. I am obsessed. One of my favorites!”

NEW CABINETRY DOOR COLORS!

One of our cabinetry vendors – US Cabinet Depot – just came out with a few new color choices.

The first set is Shaker style in Black and Navy. These are available for islands only and not kitchen cabinets.

They now also offer two new colors in their Capital Collection: Oxford Mist and Oxford Toffee. We haven’t received our samples yet but we hope to have them soon. These are for any cabinetry installation in any room.

HERE'S ANOTHER PROJECT WE JUST FINISHED!

Mary Ellen & Paul had a open but dated kitchen where the VERY small island and their kitchen table made their space look cramped. They wanted to combine the two into one clean piece, add a bit more counter space, and we happily obliged.

Before

During

Here is our crewmember Ruy preparing the iron support for the foundation of the table’s quartz countertop that will match the island. You’ll also see Tim McGee’s arm helping.  Tim actually welded the frame so our customers got a McGee original! (Don’t know Ruy? Read all about him in our Crew Spotlight!)

After

We also extended the left side of counters and cabinets and gave them counter space galore! Cheyanne helped them pick everything out including a cool backsplash with just a touch of bling and sparkle. And ta-da! Now Mary Ellen & Paul’s kitchen looks clean, beautiful, functional, and so pretty! We were happy to help!

RLP CREW SPOTLIGHT

This month, we’d like you to get to know…

Ruy Ruiz

Ruy (you may think that’s pronounced “Roy” but it’s actually “Rue-E”) has been with us since October 2017. He’s originally from Mexico. Ruy is single and doesn’t have kids but he does have 4 dogs: chi-poos (Chihuahua poodle mix) – Little, Rain, Fatty, and his favorite, Skinny.

Ruy is great on drywall, electrical, and framing but pitches in wherever we need him. His favorite project was a total home remodel we did a while ago. It’s so satisfying to see a complete transformation!

We asked Ruy what he likes most about working for us and he said, “Making people make their dream houses.” We know what he means – we love that too! He added, “I’m working for (RLP) trying to do my best every day.” What a great attitude! That’s why he’s still with us; it’s that commitment to quality that makes us successful.

So what does Ruy do for fun? He likes to hike, try new restaurants, and play soccer.

Thanks, Ruy, for your hard work and great attitude!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all those born in July! And Happy Belated Father's Day to all the dads out there!!

Have a safe and happy July 4th everyone!! Happy 247th Birthday America! (Our showroom will be closed for the holiday but we're open on Monday the 3rd.)
