It’s January 2023 and a fresh new year. As you read this newsletter in your home, look around. Does it make you smile? That’s great! Does it make you grunt in annoyance because something doesn’t function the way you always wanted it to or just looks out-of-date? That’s NOT great and WE CAN HELP!
Call us today and we’ll be happy to set up a free consult at your home. These are usually done by Mike Gillis, our owner, who has 30 years of experience. We focus on the communities of Sun City, Sun City West, and nearby 55+ Adult Communities so we’re VERY familiar with the homes and challenges in these areas and know just how to make it WORK FOR YOU!!
Mike will take pictures and measurements, and answer your questions. Then, he’ll come back to our Showroom, prepare a Preliminary Estimate, and send that to you. This way, you’ll know the SOW (Scope of Work), a preliminary list of “budgetary” materials (these are not sub-par; they are
just at a good price point and included so you get a better idea of how much things will cost. If you decide to move forward with us, this will be updated after you make your final selections with our Interior Designer.) The first page of our Preliminary Estimate will break down the project total into Materials and Labor.
We know and understand that redoing a kitchen or bathroom takes planning – especially financially – so getting bids from a few companies is a good idea. We are here to answer your questions and hope that in the end, you will choose us to do your project. (And remember, it doesn’t have to be a complete remodel. We do small projects too!) And we are happy to set up progress payments while your project is happening so you’re not hit with a large payment all at once. (Materials do have to be paid in full before we start though.)
Start the new year with (what will feel like) a new home!! It’s usually cheaper to remodel than buy new and move!
RLPS Crew Spotlight
We thought we’d start a new column to cast a spotlight on the RLPS crew. After all, they come into your homes, so wouldn’t it be nice to know who they are? We’ll start 2023 with the spotlight on…
Rodney Alger, Jr.
Rodney’s been with us for 6½ years, working with Mike before Renewed Life Properties, LLC even existed! He’s from Merced, California, and is a retired Marine. He has two girls, Hailee and Chrisanna, and a cat named Max.
We asked him what he liked the most about working for us and he said: “All the creative thoughts the clients come up with for the jobs.”
And what was his favorite project? The one he’s working on right now – it’s a whole house renovation that we started a year ago! This is one of our favorite projects too. The client wanted a very cool flooring design – tile following the lines along built-in base cabinets and around corners, and the main floors with different directions in some rooms to bring a fresh take on flooring – just very cool and unique! The project isn’t finished but we’re very close, and the final pictures will be shared when that happens. In the meantime, check out some of the photos. As always, we start with the Before. This is the entrance to the home on the left, and the garage to the right. We took down that wall leading to the garage and that’s where the new kitchen will be.
(Below): And here’s a shot of the almost-finished room with the kitchen now in place. If you look carefully, you can see the unique placement of tile around the counter and walls. We’ll post final, official photos of the home very soon.
Rodney considers his best skills to be cabinet installation and plumbing.
But what does he do for fun, you ask? Hunting, shooting, working on vehicles, and building things.
Rodney is an important member of our team and we’re lucky to have him! And now you know Rodney too!
Kari's Personal News
On a personal note: My favorite younger niece and her husband just had a sweet baby girl named Amelia a month ago. Due to Covid and other health scares going on in the world, they wouldn’t let me visit until last Sunday so it was a LLLOOOOONNNNNGGGG month! But the text invite came and I ran!! They are also limiting her exposure on social media so I had to cover her face but trust me, she’s beautiful. We haven’t had a baby in the family for over 30 years so it was a wonderful Christmas gift to all of us! I’ve never had kids so holding her in my arms was very special and needless to say, I’m in love!! And I especially wanted a picture of her little fingers holding my finger. Precious!! I’m a great-aunt and loving it!

Here’s a tidbit about our Spotlight Crewmember Rodney. He has a secret identity! Didn’t know that, didya? On the left, a mild-mannered hard worker. On the right, the superhero RENEWED LIFE MAN!! He’s using his superpowers to make his rooms AMAZING!!
UGLY WALLPAPER CONTEST!!
